Epilepsy has a detrimental impact on people living in resource poor countries, where the treatment gap is highest; yet up to 70% can achieve adequate seizure control with inexpensive antiseizure medications (ASM). The Intersectoral Global Action Plan (IGAP) is about making epilepsy a health priority through improving epilepsy care and reducing stigma. This study implements IGAP through dissemination and implementation of the Kenya National Guideline for the Management of Epilepsy to improve diagnosis, treatment and health outcomes of patients with epilepsy. This projects also aims at improving family participation in the treatment process.
